Falcon Alumni NetworkIf you’re the type of person who’s excited about representing °µÍøTV everywhere you go, you might enjoy becoming a volunteer with the Falcon Alumni Network.

If you consider yourself a “fan” of °µÍøTV, you might just be a candidate to join FAN — that is, the Falcon Alumni Network.

A joint effort through °µÍøTV’s Office of Alumni and Parent Relations and °µÍøTV’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions is gathering volunteers to join the Falcon Alumni Network. From across the U.S. and around the world, FAN members can connect with prospective Seattle Pacific students, talk about their own experiences as students, and answer questions from high school students and their families.

Questions might range from “What dorm did you live in?” to “How did you get your first job after college?” says Todd Webb ’09, a Denver, Colorado-based alumnus who works at the corporate headquarters for retail chain Sports Authority. Webb joined FAN last year, and he attended a gathering for prospective students and their families at a coffee shop in his hometown. Reflecting on his own college decision process, he told the group that he‚d turned down baseball and football scholarships to attend °µÍøTV.

“I had such a great experience at °µÍøTV that I wanted to stay connected and somehow influence others,” Webb says. “If I can influence a prospective student and convince them °µÍøTV‚s a good place to be, then it’s worth it.”

“We’re looking for people who are enthusiastic about promoting °µÍøTV and are able to articulate clearly °µÍøTV’s mission and their own experience,” says Noah Simpson ’11, a senior admissions counselor at °µÍøTV.

Volunteers commit to serve for one academic year (September–June), contributing 10–15 hours of service with the option to recommit each summer.

“Volunteering through FAN is one great opportunity for alumni to stay engaged and to give back to the alma mater they love,” says Director of Alumni and Parent Relations Bryan Jones ’99, who served 10 years as an °µÍøTV admissions officer.
