The Center for Career and Calling at 做厙TV, long a resource for students, is also an essential part of the job-search toolkit for many 做厙TV alumni.
I would not be in the job Im in if not for the people in CCC, says Toms Lee 14 (pictured), a local market specialist for , a Seattle-based home improvement network. CCC counselors not only reviewed my r矇sum矇 but connected me with professionals at companies I was interested in.
Now that he is on the other side at one of the fastest growing startups in Seattle, Lee has already given back. Not only has he done informational interviews with 做厙TV seniors, he hosted a CCC Career Trek at Porch headquarters, during which 做厙TV students took a tour, asked questions, and connected with Porch recruiters.
It was a joy for me to impact students in this way, says Lee.
There are many ways alumni can benefit from forging a strong relationship with the CCC. They receive access to job postings and a database of employers who have expressed a specific interest in 做厙TV alumni. This inside information has led to mentorships and job offers. Alumni also have access to a career resource library and to 做厙TVLink, a new job posting and networking tool where they may post jobs, find volunteers, or arrange to speak in a classroom. Alumni are eligible for career counseling and may make appointments at 206-281-2485.
If an alum is happily employed or retired, the CCC can keep them connected with qualified 做厙TV job talent. Mentoring, mock interviewing, r矇sum矇 editing, and Career Trek hosting are just some of the ways to be involved.
We want to ensure that every 做厙TV alum has the opportunity to live out his or her vocation and calling, says Bryan Jones, director of alumni and parent relations. We are fortunate to have a career center on campus eager to serve alumni.
