Study Abroad Scholarships

Here’s a partial list of scholarships available to any °µÍøTV student considering study outside the United States. Also see our main scholarships page and the scholarship page. Do you qualify? In most cases, you won’t know until you apply!

  • Amount: $500–$1,000
  • Available to: Students participating in an AIFS program with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Instructions: Apply March 1 for Summer, April 15 for Autumn, September 15 for Spring

  • Amount: varies
  • Available to: Students receiving Federal Pell Grant, accepted into study abroad program; at least four weeks (28 days) in one country
  • Deadline: see program deadlines as on website

  • Amount: £500
  • Available to: Students studying in the UK at a Butex affiliated school (U-Kent included)
  • Instructions: Apply by May 31 for one semester minimum

  • Amount: $1,000–$5,000
  • Available to: Students participating in a CIEE program, with a demonstrated financial need, and a member of a group traditionally underrepresented in study abroad
  • Instructions: Apply April 1 for Summer/Fall, November 1 for Winter/Spring

  • Amount: varies

  • Amount: 615 euros/month
  • Available to: Juniors or seniors while in Germany
  • Notes: Stay must last 4–10 months

  • Amount: 30 euros/day
  • Available to: Groups of 10–15 students
  • Notes: For trips 7–12 days long in Germany

  • Amount: $500–$2,500
  • Available to: Students for semester, summer, short term, full year, and internship programs
  • Instructions: Apply March 31 for Summer, July 31 for Fall, November 30 for Winter/Spring

  • Amount: $3,000–$7,000
  • Available to: Students studying in Asia, and who demonstrate financial need
  • Instructions: Apply March for programs May–July, April for programs August–November, October for programs December–April
  • Notes: Study tour must last minimum of 10 weeks

  • Amount: varies
  • Instructions: Apply by March 1

  • Amount: up to $10,000
  • Instructions: Apply by November for a minimum of 4 weeks abroad

(Institute of International Education)

  • Notes: Resource with detailed descriptions of hundreds of study abroad scholarships, fellowships, grants, and paid internships for U.S. undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students, and professionals

  • Amount: 40 awards each year include a personal allowance for residence and cost of living, tuition fees, grants for books, travel, etc, and travel to and from the U.S.
  • Available to: American citizens at time of application with at least a 3.7 GPA, may not be studying for, or hold, a British university degree
  • Instructions: Apply within 2 years of graduating from undergraduate university, and must take up award within 3 years of graduating

  • Available to: Students with demonstrated financial need, who are residents of Hawaii with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Instructions: Apply by March 1

  • Amount: Varies, see website

  • Available to: Graduate-level academic studies
  • Notes: Graduate coursework or research for one to four academic years

  • Amount: varies
  • Notes: Multiple scholarships for different trips and locations

  • Amount: varies
  • Available to: Students studying in Japan
